The Art Root Working Group have plans for the second year of the open studios event well under way. We hope to build on the tremendous success of 2011 and continue to showcase fantastic local creative talent.

When Virginia Woolf’s novel ‘To the Lighthouse’ was first published, critics condemned the setting in the Hebrides as unconvincing and declared the book was really a portrait of life in Cornwall, scene of the author’s childhood holidays. Performance artist Delia Porras will be performing her latest, site specific, project ‘Wintersummer‘ at Pressmennan Wood, just south of Stenton at 14:30 hours on both Saturday and Sunday, 24/25th September. It will last around 20 minutes. This performance takes inspiration from the Japanese dance form of ‘Butoh‘ . It is aimed at adults but is not unsuitable for children.
